more.than.what you.need

Joshua 19:9 The inheritance of the Simeonites was taken from the share of Judah, because Judah’s portion was more than they needed. So the Simeonites received their inheritance within the territory of Judah.

Did you read it?   Do you see what I see?  I’ll point it out to you.   “because Judah’s portion was more than they needed.”

Once again we see the God of ‘more than enough’.  Judah had so much in their inheritance … That they had more than what they needed.   So what do you do when you have more than what you need.   There is no need to waste.  If Jesus Christ has given you more than enough of something, chances are he intends for you to share in that inheritance.  Just consider yourself Judah today, and know that your portion of inheritance from Jesus is enough for you and chances are more than enough so that you can share.  The scripture that comes to mind is

Matthew 5:1KJV”Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

Well I guess I’m preaching to myself now.  Sadly, I am tempted to see myself and my life as ‘less than’.  That is probably the reason this verse stood out.   Judah’s portion was more than what they needed to share their inheritance.   On a much more personal note, I sense that my parents too, especially with the homegoing of my mother, has brought to light how greatly she is missed but how much of her love is left in her family, and those that knew her.  Growing up, we never lacked for love.  And there was so much more she instilled in us … Like Jesus Christ!   I’m sure more and more we will see that our portion was then, and now is more than we needed, with plenty to share.   Lord help us do that.
